"PONTIANAK: This is the name of a terrifying being in the folk beliefs of the Malay people of West Malaysia. The Pontianak is described as appearing in the form of a hideous head with entrails attached and dangling down from it and able to fly through the forests into houses. The Pontianak is a type of vampire that suck the blood of babies and infants ensuring that they weaken and die."
